THE CENTER SCHOOL
9th Grade Transition Program

Dear Incoming Center School Student,

Our goal is for you to have a smooth path to graduation and enjoy the experience of our college preparatory program along the way.  The Center School has some unique qualities and, in order for you to learn about those, you and your family are invited to have a team meeting consisting of me, The Center School counselor, Ms. Sanusi, and one of The Center School staff members.

During this 30 minute meeting you will learn about:

  • Common issues for freshmen
  • Credits
  • MAP and HSPE testing
  • High School requirements
  • P.E. credit contract
  • Community Service contract
  • Levels of intervention

You will also see a transcript example and have an opportunity to ask the team any additional questions you might have.

Please know that the 9th Grade Transition Program will take place September 3rd and 7th, and then every Thursday after that.  Most of the dates are already booked; however, the month of October is still open.  Thus, as a first step for you to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity, please call the school 206-252-9850 or email oabritsova@seattleschools.org to sign up for the time convenient for you and your family.

The 9th grade Transition Program is going to be a wonderful experience for you. We are looking forward to meeting with you.

Sincerely,

Oksana Britsova
Principal, The Center School

CSCA Meeting and House Party - Sunday, October 3rd at 4:00 pm

This house party will not be a fundraiser.  It is the first general meeting of the CSCA and you parents are all invited to hear our plans for the year.  Find out how you can get involved and meet your fellow parents all while enjoying food and drink.  No need to bring the kids, they would just get bored anyway.  Location will be announced shortly.

Night at the Rep, Dancing at Lughnasa - Thursday, November 11th

Join the Community Building Committee for this fundraiser at the Seattle Rep.  We see Dancing at Lughnasa and enjoy dinner and drinks.  This play is a delight and is suitable for ages 12 and above.
